The Challenge
Love Coffee Co. is a cozy independent coffee shop in Oxford, UK.
The original Love Coffee Co. website had a clean foundation but missed opportunities to fully convey the café’s charm and personality.
The hero section lacked visual impact, and important information like opening hours and customer reviews were placed too far down the page.
The navigation and call-to-action could have done more to guide visitors through the site, while some design elements—such as imagery and contrast—made the content harder to connect with.
With thoughtful refinements, the site had great potential to better reflect the welcoming spirit of the brand.
My Solution
The redesign introduced a clearer visual hierarchy with bold hero content, muted accent colours, and prominent placement of essential info like opening hours and reviews.
Human touches—like photos of staff—add warmth, while strategic use of branding colours and well-placed CTAs improved engagement.
Overall, the new site better captures the café's identity and encouraged users to explore.
Expected Impact
Stronger first impressions
The refined branding, clear typography, and welcoming hero image of the shop interior immediately convey warmth and professionalism—building trust and enticing first-time visitors to explore further.
Increased Customer Engagement
By placing the "VIEW MENU" call-to-action and opening hours above the fold, users get instant access to key info, reducing friction and encouraging quicker decision-making.
Targeted Appeal to Student Demographic
The prominent student discount messaging, paired with relatable imagery, creates a sense of inclusion and value—helping to attract and retain a loyal Gen Z customer base.
Boosted Credibility and Conversions
Featuring social proof through real reviews enhances trust, while a simplified footer ensures visitors find essential contact information easily—encouraging more in-store visits or inquiries.
